Cancun

The way I like to vacation is with people I love, where no one can contact me, except via smoke signal, and even then, I'd be too far away to see. No cell signal and too-expensive-and-slow-to-use wifi is utter perfection to me.

This was a week for me to reconnect with my thoughts, uninterrupted by schedule and the repetition of every day life. It was a week for me to set intention for the near future.

I was blessed to go on this adventure with Justin, and I can't wait to slowly but surely conquer the world with my camera and people that make my world complete. Here are my favorite snapshots from Cancun.

Sarah's late July adventure shoot

There are not very many things I enjoy more than spending time with friends, exploring new places and learning new things.

When my new friend from work, Sarah, approached me expressing her desire to get out of her comfort zone and in front of the camera, the idea for this shoot really came to life while my good friend Margaret and I were daydreaming about how we could make it an adventure for all of us.

Margaret is a makeup artist, a creative soul as well, and a very dear friend of mine. Most of our conversation is either spent discussing our ideas for styled shoots, or about our wanderlust, or some combination of both. So, styled shoots while we travel the world. Our ideal jobs. Needless to say, we were excited to collaborate on our very first real shoot together.

After planning and rescheduling a few times, it all finally came to life.

This past Saturday, Sarah, Margaret and I drove 45 minutes southwest of Atlanta to find rolling hills, tall pines and the perfect sunset light. That we did. Slowly but surely, Sarah found her comfort in front of the camera, and let me tell you... The camera loves her. When you check out these pictures, that quickly becomes obvious.

I know whoever sees these images sees the confident, beautiful woman we see everyday. I hope you all love these images and admire Sarah as much as I do! I am still having so much fun exploring tons of different edits with these. I honestly had the hardest time narrowing these down to share, but here are a few favorites from our evening!

Joy & Will: Engaged!

One of the best parts of starting my new job earlier this year was making new friends. Also recent hire like myself, Will Fortanbary is a passionate, hilarious and brilliant motion graphics artist with a fire for Jesus. We became friends quickly, and he is constantly pushing me to be a better designer and person. This kid wants to change the world in a big way, and he'll tell you so. Several times a day.

One thing I admire about Will is his love for his fiancee, Joy. He talks about Joy all the time. He doesn't just talk about her all the time. He knows she's way out of his league (and everyone's league, for that matter). Joy is pretty darn close to perfect, from her stunning good looks to her sweet heart and her really fun personality. They're both so awesome, and I was really pumped to spend the afternoon with them. We had a blast, and as you'll be able to tell from a few of the photos, these two are so fun and some of the biggest goofballs ever.

I absolutely cannot wait to shoot their wedding this September! Will & Joy, you rock. So excited for you two, and I'm praying for ya as you get closer towards becoming Mr. and Mrs. Fortanbary!
